Application
to Sit for Fundamentals of Engineering Examination
An
engineer applying for registration as a professional engineer
to the Professional Engineers Board is required to hold an
approved degree or qualification listed in the
Professional Engineers (Approved Qualifications) Notification
or have other proper and recognised academic
qualifications in engineering and satisfies such conditions as
the Board may determine, acquired not less than 4 years’ of
relevant practical experience and sat and passed examinations
prescribed by the Board. In
addition, PEB would require the applicant to attend an
interview.
An applicant for registration is required to sit and pass :
(a)
the Fundamentals of Engineering Examination, which tests the
applicant’s knowledge of fundamental engineering subjects in
civil, electrical or mechanical engineering; and
(b)
the Practice of Professional Engineering Examination, which
tests the applicant’s ability to apply his knowledge and
experience in professional engineering practice, and his
knowledge of the rules and regulations regulating the practice
of professional engineering in civil, electrical or mechanical
engineering.
A
person may apply to sit for the Fundamentals of Engineering
Examination after he has obtained an approved degree or
qualification listed in the
Professional Engineers (Approved Qualifications) Notification
or has proper and recognised academic qualifications in
engineering accepted by the Board.
An application
to sit for the
Fundamentals of Engineering
Examination shall be accompanied by a fee of
$350. Where an applicant is unable to
sit for the examination the Board may refund all or part
of the fees.
Fundamentals
of Engineering Examination 2010 Fundamentals
of Engineering Examinations 2010 would be held in Sep 2010 and information
for applicants would be available in Mar 2010.

Examination was conducted on 23
Sep 09 for Civil Engineering and 24 Sep 09 for Electrical
and Mechanical Engineering. A total of 345 candidates sat

who passed the FEE and who have at least 4 years of relevant
practical experience can go on to apply to sit for the
Practice of Professional Engineering Examination. Application to sit for the
Practice of Professional
Engineering Examination
is open and closes on 12 Mar 10. The examination will be
conducted on 12 May 10.
