PEB
held its first Day of Dedication on
6 Oct 07 at the Raffles Hotel. The
objective of the event was to emphasize the dedication
of service to society and the profession by professional engineers (PEs) and to
celebrate the award of
registration certificates to newly registered PEs
and specialist PEs, ie PEs who have
been registered with the Board in the last 12 months.
During
the half-day event, the guest of honour, Er. Prof
Cham Tao Soon, President of the Board, Er. Chua Koon Hoe and other speakers spoke on several topical issues
concerning leadership,
conduct and ethics, law and other challenges relating to professional
engineering practice.
Er.
Chua Koon Hoe presented registration certificates to the newly
registered PEs and specialist registration
certificates to specialist professional engineers
who are registered in the branch of Geotechnical Engineering. This was followed by the taking of the Professional Engineer’s
Pledge by the new registrants to affirm their dedication
to serve society and the profession.
The PEB Gold Medals were also presented at the
registration ceremony. The guest of honour, Er. Prof Cham Tao Soon, President Emeritus, NTU and Chancellor and Chairman, SIM University presented the PEB Gold Medals for undergraduate
programs as well as the PEB Gold Medals for post-graduate Master
programs to recipients from NUS and NTU. Click
